14 Mosaic Tile Bathroom Ideas for a unique and personal effect

post

If your bathroom needs a little TLC, there are plenty of easy and exciting changes that can easily make even the dullest spaces more appealing. Installing mosaic tiles is one way to create a stunning focal point and give your bathroom a fresh, new look.

Check out these gorgeous mosaic tile bathroom ideas for some beautiful examples that will help you get inspired to do your very own unique and personal at-home bathroom makeover.

Add a Pop of Color with Vibrant Green and Blue Tile

These floor tiles feature lively colors of blue and green, giving this small bathroom a fresh pop of color and cheer. The white subway tiles on the walls allow the floor tiles to become the star of the show. This example proves that bright colors and unique patterns can look amazing, even in smaller spaces.

Keep it Simple with Muted Tones

A simple pattern in soft shades of white and gray adds a calming effect to this bathroom design. The wall-mounted sink and simple shower with glass doors give this bathroom a sleek, modern feel.

Using gray and white mosaic tiles keeps everything cohesive without being too dark, too bright, or too bold compared to the size of the room.

Go Bold with Brilliant Green Tiles

With a funky geometric design and brilliant green hue, this is one of the best mosaic tile ideas for a fun, modern bathroom. Although the walls are crafted of bright white tile, installing the brilliant green tiles adds a playful element here and gives the bathroom a much more casual and fun vibe.

A uniquely shaped window just above the toilet adds ventilation, natural light, and a geometric-inspired silhouette that’s echoed in the design of the floor tiles.

Create a Sophisticated Space with Black and White Tile

A black-and-white bathroom is a popular choice for many homeowners, and this example is a perfect source of modern inspiration. The black fixtures, wall sconce, sink, and mirror play beautifully against the clean, crisp white subway tiles on the walls.

However, the star of the show is the playful mosaic tile that features a similar black-and-white color scheme to tie everything together seamlessly.

Pick a Playful Pattern to Break Up a Small Space

Using the same color or theme throughout a bathroom isn’t unique, but it can be a bit bland in smaller spaces or a guest bathroom. Here, the designer chose a fun, funky mosaic tile installation for the floor to visually “break up” the monochrome motif.

This example proves that adding a bold pattern is a great choice, especially if you’re dealing with a smaller room that needs some more variety in terms of texture and tone.

Get Artistic With an Unusual Tile Pattern and Color Combo

The limewash wall, a large animal skull wall mount, and a gigantic window already make this bathroom unique. However, adding some ceramic mosaic floor tile gives this bathroom even more of an unusual and creative vibe.

The choice to install the tiles in a diagonal pattern adds interest to the eye, and the choice of black, white, and turquoise blue brings a cheerful pop of color to the space and gives you the feeling that there’s much more to explore.

Choose Starburst Mosaic Tile for a Mid-Century Vibe

The raised white subway tile in this bathroom is devoid of grout lines, giving it an ultra-sleek, modern aesthetic. Installing brilliant bathroom mosaics in a fun starburst pattern adds a cheeky, mid-century modern feel to this space. Bright brass accents and hardware add another layer of modernity to this fun, updated bathroom.

Moroccan Floor Tiles Make Any Bathroom Elegant

Everything about this bathroom screams elegance: from the beautiful soaker tub and the potted plant in the window to the addition of granite trim. The Moroccan-style floor tiles in soft, muted tones add another element of luxury and beauty to this warm, welcoming bathroom along with a touch of fun.

Note how the walls are covered in white subway tile, allowing the tile to slightly stand out and the main focal point (the tub) to be the most important element in the room.

Try Mosaic Tile in a Creative Geo Pattern

Unlike some of the other examples, this bathroom boasts white wall tile with black grout lines that make each tile stand out rather than blend together. A black vanity, a black framed mirror, and a piece of modern black and white wall art add to the two-toned theme.

However, the mosaic floor tiles in different shapes feature a slight departure with a funky geometric pattern in varying colors like black, white, blue, and brown.

Use Mosaic Tile to Create a Theme

A smattering of houseplants like small succulents, potted plants, and crawling vines contribute to this bathroom’s nature-inspired theme.

Incorporating other natural elements like wood also works to tie it all together. But the true star here is the brilliant, bright green mosaic floor tiles featured in a lively shade that helps this bathroom stand apart from the crowd while paying homage to Mother Nature.

Add Colored Tile in a Complimentary Shade

The light dove gray walls and warm, earthy tones like the burgundy color on the floating vanity give this bathroom a distinguished, upscale look. However, that doesn’t mean that mosaic tiles can’t be added, too.

In this bathroom, the floor tiles are installed in a fun modern geometric design, and the beautiful, light blue color complements the rest of the colors without detracting from them to create a cohesive aesthetic and a nice contrast.

Let the Mosaic Tile Make the Statement

Sunny yellow walls certainly help to make this large bathroom a unique, standout space with a slightly funky feel. However, it’s the floor tiles that steal the show with their unusual, dramatic pattern and tri-color design.

Opting for a floating vanity here was a smart choice, since it allows the tile to carry through to the edge of the wall and doesn’t allow the vanity to detract from its bold and brilliant design.

Install a Muted Two-Toned Tile for a Modern Touch

This sleek, contemporary bathroom is a work of art with its minimalist feel and open floor plan. The designer added some modern wall art, wall sculptures, and even a small sculpture resting on the vanity to tie the theme together.

Instead of installing mosaic tiles in a single shade, these tiles feature shiny and matte black colors together which create a unique geometric pattern that contributes to the space’s artsy style.

Pair Minimal Flooring with Mosaic tile Shower Walls as an Accent

While bathroom flooring is an obvious choice to integrate mosaics, the shower wall is an ideal place to integrate them as well. This creates a delicate accent in an otherwise modern and minimal environment.

A cozy and inviting apartment in a modern Swedish skyscraper

post

This modern apartment is located on the 21st floor of a newly built Swedish skyscraper (Styled by Emma Fisher and Annica Clarmell, photographed by Alen Cordic for Vastfast) and has amazing views over Gothenburg. While it’s always a bit more challenging to add a unique and characterful touch to a new building rather than a historic apartment, I think the stylists of this apartment did an amazing job of making this interior feel homey.

The apartment consists of a spacious living kitchen with a dining and sofa area overlooking the city. The bedroom has a walk-in closet currently used as a small home office. The interior is modern yet cozy, with a mix of neutral tones and black accents for a contrasting effect.

The kitchen is built on one end of the living space, allowing a large portion of the floor plan for a cozy sofa area with a beige couch and soft area rug.

The beige sofa is paired with a dark wood coffee table and a mix of brown textiles on the couch, adding a wonderful contrast to the white walls in the living space.

An armchair in front of the window makes for a perfect reading corner with a view and sheer white curtains can blend the abundance of sunlight coming through those large windows.

A minimal kitchen with light grey cabinets and a white countertop is planned out in a corner layout right next to the entrance of the apartment.

The corner layout leaves the middle of the space free for a round dining table. The light wood table paired with the dark wood dining chairs and brown accessories adds a beautiful warm and dark touch to the light kitchen space.

The countertop material is used on the kitchen backsplash as well and a chrome faucet adds a modern element to the kitchen design.

Just like the rest of the apartment, the walls of the bedroom are painted crisp white, making the black and brown textiles and accessories stand out powerfully.

17 Stylish Gray Kitchen Cabinets with White Countertops for a Modern Look

post

When it comes to stunning color combinations, there’s nothing quite like gray and white. Both versatile and modern, these two hues pair beautifully together, especially in the kitchen. If you’ve been searching for inspiration to elevate your kitchen’s interior design, these gray kitchen cabinets with white countertops make it easy to create a seamless, modern style.

In the list below, you can find some examples of gray kitchen cabinets with white countertops that will refresh your kitchen and give it the modern look you’re dreaming of.

Light Gray Cabinets With a Blue Undertone and White Quartz Countertops

These cabinets are light gray, but the slight blue undertone adds a subtle wash of color. Combined with white quartz countertops, the juxtaposition of natural materials and a modern color gives this kitchen a cozy, welcoming look and feel.

Note how the gray cabinets carry into the pantry to give the space a cohesive vibe. Brown herringbone floors and a large, open shelf add to this kitchen’s subtle, inviting appeal.

Pale Gray Shaker Cabinets With White Countertops and a White Tile Backsplash

The pale gray color of these shaker cabinets is just enough to create a gorgeous contrast against the classic white countertops. A white subway-inspired tile backsplash that nearly reaches the ceiling adds texture and a stylish, functional component to the space.

If you like the color gray but don’t want to go overboard, choosing a very light pale tone like this is a great way to incorporate the color into your kitchen without making it look too bold or dramatic.

Extreme Dark Grey Cabinets And White Marble Countertops With Matching Backsplash

While the previous example showcased cabinets in a pale gray, this kitchen is the exact opposite with extremely dark gray lower and upper cabinets. The bold tone gives this kitchen a distinctively modern look.

Not only are the countertops white and crafted of natural stone, but they also carry through to the stone slab backsplash which spans across the entire wall. Blending dark gray with white countertops creates a bold design choice that aficionados of modern interior design will appreciate.

Dark Gray Cabinets With White Countertops, a Tile Backsplash, and Wood Accents

Incorporating wood into this kitchen gives it a “toned-down,” natural feel. Using wood as accents ties the white and gray countertops and medium gray lower cabinets together nicely without making the space look or feel “cold.”

A white backsplash made with white subway tile lends it a nice finishing touch, and the large open wood shelf provides a place to display houseplants, dinnerware, and other items within easy reach. Brushed nickel hardware also contributes to the kitchen’s updated design.

Light Gray Cabinetry Paired With White Subway Tile and Wood Floor

Choosing light gray for the kitchen cabinetry combined with white subway tile lends this space a sleek, contemporary vibe. A fun, mid-century modern-inspired chandelier also gives the kitchen a touch of playful appeal.

Brightly colored dining chairs in mustard yellow and blue echo the mid-century modern feel and give the space a cheerful element. When you combine each of these design elements, you have a decidedly modern kitchen that feels fresh and new.

Light Gray Kitchen Cabinets With White Countertops and Natural Materials

An L-shaped kitchen layout makes this space feel open and airy, while the light wood floors add a slight touch of rustic charm. Choosing light gray kitchen cabinets helps to keep this kitchen’s open feel, while a large window brings in lots of natural light.

White countertops and black hardware work wonderfully together here to create a stylish, beautiful contrast. The wood table and chairs echo the natural materials of the floor and bring in a neutral color to tie it all together.

Dark Gray Kitchen Cabinets, Black Appliances, and White Subway Tile

The dark gray color of the cabinets in this kitchen helps to make them an attractive focal point, while white subway tile from the top of the counters to the ceiling adds a stylish element. Black appliances bring in a bold, dramatic contrast to the space.

A brushed brass kitchen sink faucet and leather-wrapped drawer pulls bring in some warmer components. With the white countertops, the mixture of colors and textures makes this kitchen a stunning example of functional, modern interior design.

Flat Gray Kitchen Cabinets With White Countertops and Stainless Steel Appliances

Flat panel kitchen cabinets in a warm, medium- to dark-gray color lend this kitchen a modern aesthetic. The updated stainless steel appliances help to transform this space into a true chef’s kitchen, and the white stone countertops add a touch of luxury.

The large window trimmed in black directly above the farmhouse sink brings in tons of light and ties in with the black faucet, while high-end stainless steel appliances make the space modern and functional.

Even the oven has brushed gold accents, giving everything a perfectly coordinated look. White countertops look sleek and elegant against gray and gold, giving this example a true farmhouse kitchen design.

A white and gray marble backsplash perfectly coordinates with the countertops in this kitchen for a seamless look. The upper cabinets have a unique texture and a slightly lighter gray color than the lower cabinets, giving the room a cool, two-toned element.

Gold and brass-toned accents lend the space a sleek, luxurious touch along with a large window for a bath of natural light. A wood table and chairs give this kitchen a touch of natural warmth, and bright yellow flowers lend the kitchen a cheery pop of color.

Boasting an extremely pale grey color, the cabinets in this example add just enough contrast to give the kitchen a subtle two-toned look. Even though using gray in the kitchen is all the rage, you don’t have to stick to using just a dark color.

Note how the homeowner painted the kitchen table in the same pale grey color to make it match, giving the space a nice sense of cohesiveness. The white subway tile backsplash looks beautiful with the white countertops, and wood accents add a bit of classic, old-world charm.

White accent hardware also contributes to the overall color scheme here as well as the classic countertops made of a smooth, sleek off-white stone material.

The recessed panels add a touch of texture and note how the upper cabinets are darker than the bottom for a true modern kitchen design. White quartz countertops with a subtle touch of gray round out the elegant aesthetic here.

Light grey kitchen cabinets are paired with a stainless steel countertop by the sink and light wood countertops in the rest of the kitchen. The elegant chrome cabinet hardware matches the other metal elements in the kitchen perfectly.

The white subway tile backsplash with black grout is a stylish way to protect the wall from scratches. The backsplash only goes halfway, however, and the area on top is painted in a soft beige wall color.

Next to the kitchen island, you can find a round dining table with oak dining chairs and a vintage cabinet that is great for holding glasses and dinnerware right next to the dining area.

Opposite the dining table, the sofa area finds its place. The color palette of this area contains natural tones paired with beige and brown, pairing well with the rest of the living kitchen.

19 Dining Room Gallery Wall Ideas to Elevate your Space in a Unique Way

post

Whether it’s surrealist, traditional, or modern, wall art is an easy way to instantly transform any part of your home. If you’re a fan of artwork, creating a gallery wall in a dining room will instantly make this part of your home look unique and dramatic.

Whether it’s a home with an open floor plan or a small, cozy dining space, here are some incredible dining room gallery wall ideas that will uniquely elevate your space.

Mix Various Sizes and Styles for Drama

Here, the homeowner added artwork in a brilliant mixture of styles and sizes to create a visually stunning gallery wall. Every piece of art varies in size from small to large, and they all have different themes and frames adding to the overall eclectic vibe along with the vintage chairs and vintage chandelier.

Note how the wall art is hung from around the middle of the wall up to the ceiling to bring the eye upward. This technique can help to make smaller spaces appear larger.

Hang Artwork in a Similar Style for Seamless Cohesion

This modern gallery wall boasts black and white artworks that beautifully coordinate with the rest of the space. From the walls and floors to the ceiling, white is used to create a truly elegant dining room.

Instead of hanging bright, colorful artwork, modern pieces in black frames pop against the rest of the space and give a subtle nod to the gorgeous black and brown dining table and chairs along with the chic chandelier. Adding black sheer curtains here would filter the light and coordinate with the color scheme.

Create a Cheerful Dining Space with Colorful Pieces

In the example below, a colorful gallery wall brings the space a brilliant splash of cheerful color and unique motifs. Not only are there works of art hung in frames, but a few select pieces (like the watch wall clock and the colorful arrow-shaped piece) bring it a cool, eclectic feel.

You can easily design a gorgeous oversized gallery wall like this one by mixing and matching a wide variety of wall art, wall sculptures, gold frames, and more all in a rainbow of colors for a playful, vibrant pop.

Make a Mini Gallery Wall in One Corner

It’s easy to add a mini gallery wall to smaller spaces, like the one in this example. The variety of artwork including new and vintage pieces is displayed beautifully in a single corner, moving from the top of the wainscotting and up toward the ceiling, over the door.

A colorful grid gallery wall like this can help you design an interesting, moody dining room. Here, it adds tons of visual interest without detracting from the stylish round-stone table and the comfortable upholstered dining chairs.

Keep it Simple with Select Pieces

In this Scandinavian dining space, the gallery wall is a lot simpler than you might see in other examples. However, you can tell that the homeowner carefully selected pieces that had meaning and chose to display them in a strategic, thoughtful way.

Instead of adding a typical gallery wall with artwork clustered together, some pieces are scattered to enhance the space while maintaining the Scandinavian dining room vibe for a chic modern touch. Wooden frames blend beautifully with the classic light-stained furniture.

Choose One Work of Art as the Focal Point

Creating gallery walls doesn’t have to be complicated, like the example in this elegant yet eclectic dining room. A row of simple wall shelves creates a ledge gallery wall and the perfect place to display framed art and other items that you can easily change whenever you want to update the space.

However, one large framed piece steals the show and gives this dining room an artful element. The use of the shelves allows for an ever-changing, free-form gallery wall that can easily be changed any time you wish.

Let Wall Art Highlight Other Elements in the Room

Bold graphic artworks like the examples here help to highlight other parts of the dining space like the light-stained table and vintage chairs. Incorporating dramatic colors and bold graphics in this bright gallery wall helps the toned-down furniture stand out rather than blend in.

Instead of a classic white wall, the tan-colored walls here add to the warmth of the room while still allowing the artwork to make it a bright dining room.

Transform Your Dining Room Into a Museum-Like Space

The navy accent wall in this dining room helps to make it a dramatic and bold space that draws you in. Opting for a simple grid gallery wall, the artwork on display here is featured in a single row and consists of everything from colorful paintings to black and white photos.

The gorgeous, rich stained furniture pops against the white wainscotting and is punctuated by the delicate geometric-shaped white paper pendant light hanging above it.

Incorporate Several Design Elements in One Space

An eye-catching gallery wall doesn’t have to be the only thing that makes a dining room stand out. In this example, many objects work together to create a truly stunning space. Textured boucle upholstery on the creamy chairs and a massive modern table act like sculptures rather than furniture.

A soft shag area rug, fluted pendant light, and multiple potted plants are extra design elements that work well together. The large windows that lead to the balcony help to bathe this space in warm natural light.

Make Wall Art Pop with White and Black Frames

The round shape of this charming vintage dining room makes it extremely unique, and a large round table with wood and leather woven chairs adds to the elegance. Since this dining space has an unusual shape, a wall shelf was installed on one side to make designing this elegant monochromatic gallery wall easy.

Rather than displaying art in bright colors, black and white tones were used to create an almost monochromatic gallery wall that doesn’t detract from the room’s subtle, luxurious design.

Get Creative with Custom Touches

Rather than just hanging artwork in simple photo frames, this dining room has a unique addition thanks to a large piece of textured fabric that serves as a backdrop to two of its most dramatic pieces. The color of the fabric complements the rectangular wood slab table.

A unique thin modern black pendant lamp reflects the table’s shape and adds light without being so overwhelming that it detracts from the other design features and gives this free-form gallery wall a unique vibe.

Mint Green Walls Create an Earthy Dining Space

You can use wall color to help bring out your gallery wall and give it new life. The gorgeous mint green walls in this dining room give it a warm, earthy component along with the stylish curved cane chairs.

The rich stained credenza against the wall also adds to the vibe, along with a few leafy houseplants and a vase filled with branches and flowers. Even though there are only three pieces of art here, they’re large enough and grouped in a way that makes for a simple yet elegant gallery wall. The choice of both black and blonde wood frames combine beautifully, too.

Choose Art that Reflects the Dining Room Theme

What makes a gallery wall cohesive is the choice of pieces featuring similar themes or styles. For example, this space has four pieces of art created in a classic style like simple sketches and traditional florals so it looks as if each work of art naturally belongs with the other.

This also demonstrates how the artwork matches the rest of the space with its vintage table and unfinished wood floors that tie the room together.

Allow an Architectural Feature to Frame Your Gallery Wall

The designer of this dining room incorporated a unique, stylish idea to utilize an old door frame as part of the gallery wall. What appears to have once been a door is now walled off, but the frame remains.

Using that trim, the designer created a larger “frame” that surrounds the wall art and makes it a dramatic focal point. White neutral chairs and a simple modern round table in the corner add another stylish element that looks beautiful nestled near the grid gallery wall.

Carry Artwork Through Different Rooms

It’s clear to see that this homeowner appreciates art since there are several pieces featured in different rooms, not just the neutral vintage dining room. Although the “bones” of this home feel vintage, the use of modern furniture and accents gives it a sleek, updated look. This example shows you can have a lovely gallery wall in any space, like a living room gallery wall, not just the dining room alone.

Choose Art That Elevates the Rest of Your Space

A large framed piece featuring geometric shapes helps to carry the rest of this dining room’s design. The large white globe pendant light and curved wood chairs reflect the many curvaceous silhouettes in the space.

Alternatively, you could also add colorful chairs and some artwork to match the same brilliant and bright tones to create a similar design. Use metallic gilded frames to help the artwork pop.

Wall Shelves Create a Floating Gallery Wall

If you don’t want to use nails, wall shelves like these make it easy to create a stylish, floating gallery wall. This option also makes it easier to switch artwork and other decor whenever you want to change things up.

The use of black frames helps the wall art pop and a round mirror with a similar frame ties it all together beautifully for a bold gallery wall with loads of personality.

Colorful gallery wall in a playful dining nook

This eclectic dining room features a bold gallery wall that instantly draws the eye. A mix of abstract prints, photography, textiles, and sculptural elements in various shapes and sizes creates an artistic and personal look. The combination of vintage furniture, indoor plants, and colorful pendant lights adds charm and warmth, while the bench seating with layered cushions gives the space a cozy and relaxed feel.

Floor to Ceiling Gallery Walls Anchored by Natural Wood and White

A gallery wall stretching from floor to ceiling and wall to wall immediately draws the eye across the full height of the room. Below it, a modern white dining table sits grounded by natural wood vintage chairs, their warm grain picking up the earthy tones scattered throughout the framed pieces above. The contemporary color palette ties the arrangement together, keeping the whole display feeling intentional rather than accumulated.

A small apartment with a modern style and a niche space for the bed

This beautifully renovated historic apartment for sale in Sweden (via Stadshem) has a combined living and bedroom area that works in a spacious and elegant way. The bed is built inside of a niche space inside the wall and separated off with beige curtains on either side for an elegant effect.

The rest of the spacious living space with light grey walls features a mix of brown and beige modern furniture with green plants and carefully selected accessories.
