I love it when one room peeks through from the other room like in this classy Swedish home. You can close the doors for privacy, yet when they are open the space looks a lot bigger.
In this space the effect becomes even stronger because of the dark grey walls in the bedroom, combined with the crisp white ones in the living room. I think the dark grey walls combine very nicely with the pink bedsheets* as well, don’t you think ?
I think this warm grey color on the bedroom walls of this place have such a warm yet slightly moody effect on the vibe of this room. The white painted vintage cabinet, white bedside lamps and the white linen curtains* really stand out against the warm grey walls.
The grey bedspread*, combined with the crisp white linen bedsheets* and the beautiful pattern on the pillow match this look perfectly and the green of the plants in the window really pops out as well.
Wether light or dark grey, with a warm or cold undertone, grey is a really nice option for your bedroom walls. It’s not such a commitment as any other color and it’s a relatively safe choice (always sample test though). A grey wall gives you the freedom to work with colored textiles as well, which is one of the easiest ways to update up any room and change the look.
This bedroom has very light grey walls, which combines perfectly with the warm tints coming from the String shelf in wood, the vintage leather armchair and the mustard bedsheets. I think this combination of grey and natural tints looks very elegant and cozy.
Green bedsheets is not something that you see often, but it works so well in this cozy bedroom. Combined with white pillows and a soft grey blanket, it makes the entire look a bit softer.

A beautiful turn-of-the-century apartment in Sweden that is filled with the most amazing daylight coming from those old curved windows. The living room features a large oval dining table with oak wood &Tradition ‘In Between’ chairs and a lovely combination of beige linen curtains* with a beige linen table cloth*. The clean white kitchen is minimal, yet shines in its’ simplicity. The second dining table here is all white as well and I love the subtle natural accents throughout all the white softening out the kitchen. The bedroom has been painted in a subtle green color, which is matched up with the same green tint in the bedding and a beautiful gallery wall above the bed.
A characterful apartment with many colorful elements for a personal effect. Throughout this apartment, you can find some very bold color choices that work surprisingly well together. The living room combines a yellow sofa with a sky blue armchair and a whole mix of different colors in the gallery wall. While the kitchen has a very calm and subtle design itself, it has been enhanced by a series of beautiful accessories in multiple colors to make this a happy place to gather. I love that the kitchen is built on the lower part only and the wall space has been filled with both artworks and narrow open shelving to display small items. The bedroom has been painted in yellow, combined with a lavender duvet cover* on the bed and a mixture of many different colors in the art prints and accessories.
A wonderful loft home on two floors with the original elements of the old architecture shining through. The old wooden beams have been kept in their original color, which has been matched up with an elegant interior decor with accents of blue among a neutral palette. The black kitchen contrasts nicely against the light hardwood flooring and the light grey walls and I love that the dining area on the opposite side of the kitchen has been kept white with a few subtle blue accents.
A beautiful turn-of-the-century home with a warm greige wall color and black and brown accents. The combined living and dining room features a rectangular dining table in front of those big windows, which stands out nicely because of the black dining chairs. The adjacent bedroom has a calm and tranquil look with the grey walls and the beige and white textiles on the bed. Both rooms look very balanced and since you can look from one room into the other, it’s nice that the color palettes match each other.
An all-white apartment with warm hardwood flooring and a light interior color palette. The furniture and accessories of this place are calm and tranquil with colors of beige, grey, and white in both the bedrooms and living room.
A beautiful apartment with a light living area and a large dining table in front of the windows combined with vintage bentwood chairs and subtle touches of pink, red,and lavender. The warm color palette of the living area contrast so nicely with the dark deep blue wall color of the bedroom. The bedroom lays in between the living room and the kitchen, which are both light and bright and by having a darker color in the middle room, you distinguish the rooms from each other in a nice way.
A beautiful light flooded turn-of-the-century Swedish home with marvelous details on the doorways, ceilings, and windows and a custom-built glass partition to divide the bedroom and the dining area. This glass partition gives a little bit of privacy (the curtains can be closed to completely separate the two areas) without losing the feeling of spaciousness.
A beautiful apartment with a massive window in the living room from which you can enjoy the view of the city. I love the contrast between the light palette of the sofa area, with the darker palette of the dining area, which is enhanced by the large deep brown artwork on the wall. The dark brown kitchen combined with the small dining area in front of the window here looks very cozy and inviting as well and even though the layout of the kitchen is rather strange, it works like a charm.
A beautiful apartment with white walls and natural wood accents for a light and tranquil look. I love the open shelving with a desk in the living area, which features a little home office as well. The kitchen has a subtle green and grey palette and the living room leads up to the light and airy bedroom where the old fireplace can keep you warm.
Darker wall colors in a bedroom can be quite a bold choice, however, dark green paint combines deep tones with the soothing and fresh element a green palette brings to the table resulting in a bold yet balanced interior palette.
You can style your dark green bedroom with contrasting lighter textiles, or pair your green walls with dark green curtains to lean into the darker, moody effect.
When you are thinking about adding a dark green bedroom to your own home, this post is for you. Below, you can find a list of the most inspiring dark green bedroom ideas that feature a variety of different dark green wall colors paired with different finishes in the textiles and soft furnishings.
A moody bedroom with dark green walls and warm beige tones
Let’s kick things off with the darkest of the green bedroom ideas on this list, shall we? The dark green bedroom walls contrast against the light architectural features of the space and add depth to the setting.
The beige and brown tones in the curtains, throw pillows and blanket make the room feel like a warm and cozy retreat at the same time, a balance perfectly achieved by the interior designer of this apartment.
A darker shade of olive green in a turn-of-the-century bedroom
The dark olive green walls in this bedroom enhance the interior design of the space and accentuate the ornate historic detailing in the room’s architecture. The elegant paint color on the wall is paired with a beige throw pillow mix, an off-white linen headboard, and a lovely texture on the beige blanket on the bed.
The subtle black and white art print and the simple black wall lights add a bit of contrast to the green bedroom design and the green branch on the bedside table brings out the fresh element the paint color adds.
A green bedroom color with yellow undertones paired with dark tones in the decor
The yellow undertones in this green paint have a warming effect on the design of the space, while also adding a fresh element to the interior. The black details on the bedside table, art prints, light fixtures, and textiles add a beautiful contrast to the setting and the white textiles add a lighter touch to the color palette.
A dark green-grey wall color paired with beige bedsheets in a rattan lamp
With walls this dark, you can almost compare it with a dark grey or black bedroom, however, the green tones add just a bit more sophistication to the setting. The green-grey wall paint in this bedroom contrasts nicely with the white-soaped hardwood flooring and with the white ceilings.
The grey curtains and the dark wall art above the bed enhance the darker tones in the room, while the beige bedding and the natural rattan pendant light create a natural decor balance in the bedroom interior.
White furniture and curtains stand out in a dark green bedroom
The white fabric curtains and the white sideboard stand out against the dark green paint color in this bedroom in a powerful way. The pink, brown, and orange tones in the artwork, bedding, and the cozy rug by the end of the bed create a warm and inviting setting and the green plants bring out the fresh undertones in the green paint.
Whether you want to paint your whole bedroom green or rather work with an accent wall, a dark green color will always make an impressive effect. In this cozy bedroom, a dark green accent wall is paired with white paint for a more modest effect.
The black lamps above the bed add a darker tone to the setting, while the fresh green plants bring out the green in the wall.
Green bedrooms created with a feature wall are a bit easier to try out for those of you who are unsure or change your mind easily about a new paint color.
Cream, white, and beige shades finish a gorgeous green bedroom
The green shade used in this gorgeous space with warm hardwood flooring is paired with cream colors in the white bedding, the feather lamp, and the decor pieces for a high contrast look finished off with bright white curtains.
A dark olive tone paired with brown, grey, and white
The earthy tones in the accessories and curtains enhance the beautiful olive tone in the room. The striped bedsheets create a playful look and the white antique furniture piece enhances the white flooring in the room and matches the bed frame.
A partial dark green color to separate a sleeping area in a studio apartment
In this studio apartment, a feature wall in a dark green tone separates the sleeping area from the rest of the small space. Painting a part of the space in a different color is a great way to divide a studio apartment and working with a darker shade makes this effect even better.
When you look for inspiration and advice on how to design a small room, you will usually get the recommendation to use lighter paint colors. A darker green color in a small bedroom like this one will have a unique effect especially because of the small surface, where the floor plan will enhance the dramatic effect of the color in the space.
A dark shade like this, however, can work in small rooms that get ample natural light. If you are working with a small and dark bedroom floor plan, it might be better to opt for a lighter shade.
Fresh dark green bedroom walls paired with dark grey textiles and gold accents
The clean lines of this modern bedroom are accentuated by the gorgeous fresh dark green room color. The sheer dark grey curtains and the dark grey bedding pair nicely with the dark photograph above the bed.
The white fabric pendant light and the white bedside tables lighten up the color palette and the bright table lamp paired with the gold wall lamps above the bed finish the look of this green bedroom nicely.

A bed in between two walk-in closets in a historic dark green bedroom
This is my personal favorite of the dark green bedrooms on the list, as the deep dark green color on the wall in this dream home accentuates the ornate crown molding on the ceiling and the beautiful white historic doors that are located on either side of the bed in this green bedroom.
The deep green paint is paired with a mixture of light grey and beige bedding and an off-white area rug at the end of the bed. The black and white art print and the white pendant light seem to jump out of the background created by the dark green bedroom wall.
Green-grey on the walls and ceilings in this bedroom with an asymmetrical floor plan
This grey-green bedroom has wall paint on the walls, ceilings, crown molding, baseboards, and window frames, which has a very dramatic effect on the space. The uniform color balances out the many angles in the asymmetrical floor plan and makes the decor and furniture pieces stand out.
The beige upholstered headboard paired with the beige bedding and black office desk complement the green bedroom nicely and the green plant by the window brings out the green undertones in the wall paint in a nice way.
A monochromatic dark green bedroom where every surface is painted
The dark green paint color is used not only on the bedroom walls but also on the doors of the built-in wardrobe and on the wall shelving for an integrated effect in the space.
Against these dark green walls, the antique wood bedside table, beige upholstered headboard, and the antique books stand out in a powerful way.

A darker tone of sage-green and wood elements for a natural bedroom look
Sage green bedrooms are typically painted in a lighter shade, however, a darker sage green bedroom like the one on these bedroom walls can add more depth to the room.
This perfect color green on the walls is paired with pine wood bedside tables on the lower half of the walls and a custom shelf above the bed. These wood tones paired with the white and natural bedding and the darker hues in the accessories create a beautiful setting for this small bedroom design.
A Deep and Moody Green Bedroom with a tone-on-tone Wardrobe
The deep dark green wall color in this moody master bedroom contrasts nicely with the white and beige textiles on and around the bed. The green plant on the windowsill adds a fresh touch to the palette, while the black wall lamps enhance the dark mood of the space.
The same color is used on the walls, ceilings, and wardrobe for a cohesive effect.
This gorgeous two-level apartment with high ceilings and beautiful large windows that let in so much natural light has a combination of black, white, and beige interior details spread throughout the different rooms. The beautiful grey kitchen with beige limestone countertops goes all the way up to the ceiling for an impressive layout that offers lots of storage space.
The open-plan kitchen and living room are on the first level, while the small bedroom is on the second level reached by the minimal staircase in the living room.
A grey kitchen with chrome hardware and a beige limestone countertop
The dark grey kitchen is the main focal point in this beautiful two-level apartment. Its grey cabinets go all the way up to the ceiling, providing a lot of storage space for the entire apartment, which can be accessed by a wooden ladder placed on a rail built into the kitchen layout.
The beige limestone countertops and the chrome hardware add a modern touch to the kitchen design and the brass overhead lighting is a beautiful finishing touch that also comes back in the living room of this beautiful apartment.
A round dining table in the middle of the kitchen on a large area rug
Since the kitchen is quite big, there is ample space for a kitchen dining table in the middle of the space. The dark wood of the round table combined with the white dining chairs matches perfectly with the black, white, and beige color palette that dominates the interior design of the apartment.
The rice paper pendant in the middle of the kitchen adds the finishing touch to this beautiful kitchen look.
A black, white, and beige palette in the spacious living room
The black furniture pieces in the living room stand out against the off-white wall color, the white fabric sofa, and the white textured area rug that covers a large portion of the light hardwood flooring in the living room.
The white fabric sofa is filled with a mixture of beautiful textile throw pillows in beige and brown tones and I love the way the black and white striped pattern stands out in the mix. The mirrored side table next to the sofa reflects the space in a beautiful way, while the black table lamp stands out against the subtle wall color.
The heavy linen curtains in beige cover the large living room windows and warm up the natural light coming in.
A beautiful gallery wall in the living room extends high up the walls and fills the space above a minimal black bench in the reading corner of the living room. The black, white, beige, and brown tones in the art prints match perfectly with the color palette of the rest of the living room.
A bedroom with light grey walls and lots of textiles
The beautiful light grey bedroom walls form the perfect backdrop for a contrasting black side table next to the bed, white sheer linen curtains on the windows and a beautiful white fabric lampshade above the bed. The bed is made with a mixture of beige and white linen bedsheets that add a lot of texture to the decor.
The wardrobe is painted in the same color as the wall, for a subtle and integrated effect.
Greige paint colors are a perfect choice for a calm and tranquil look in the bedroom. Greige, a.k.a gray-beige is a very warm gray that can be perceived as beige depending on the warmth of the natural light coming into a room.
Greige is a neutral wall color that is neither too warm nor too cold, which makes it easy to combine with other colors in your bedroom decor. It’s a great wall color choice for a neutral look that has a little something more than just off-white walls and greige paint colors have been increasingly popular over the past few years exactly for this reason.
Have a look at the inspiring greige bedrooms in the list below and find ideas on how to combine this trendy wall color with the right accessories and soft furnishings. At the bottom of this article, you can find the best greige paint colors to try out a swatch from on your walls.
A greige wall color, white trim, and black accent wall lamp
The bedroom in this beautiful turn-of-the-century apartment in Sweden has a beautiful shade of greige on the walls, which makes the white trim, frames around the windows and the light hardwood flooring stand out in a nice way.
The wardrobe is hidden behind a beige linen curtain, which is slightly warmer than the wall color and both the rice paper pendant light and the black metal wall lamp stand out nicely against this beautiful wall color. As a finishing touch, the warm wood of the bentwood chairs and the bench behind the bed bring out the warm undertones in the paint color.
Both the walls and the wardrobe have been painted in a warm tone of greige in this bedroom. The white floorboards and white ceilings really stand out against this wall color and since the wardrobe doesn’t continue all the way up to the ceiling, the room looks more spacious.
The greige paint color is lightened up by the white wall lamps, white chequered bedding, wall art, and the white Eos feather lamp by Umage. The pale oak bedside tables are attached to the wall for an integrated look and they bring out the warm undertones in the wall color.

This bedroom has such a simple, effortless, and elegant look. The greige wall color has yellow undertones and makes the white hardwood flooring and white trim stand out in a nice way. The white also comes back in the sheer curtains, the bedding, wall lamps, and the bedside tables.
While the whites light up the palette in a nice way, the subtle beige throw blanket and the pale oak J39 chair in the corner add a bit of warmth to the palette.

A greige wall to bring out the crown molding on the ceiling
When you have such beautiful crown molding in your bedroom, you better highlight it and an easy way to do this is to select a wall color that is darker than the color of the trim just like in the case of this beautiful turn-of-the-century bedroom.
The interior of the bedroom is kept simple, with a fabric headboard, fabric pendant light, and a large area rug underneath the bed to add lots of texture to the space.

Some of the best greige paint colors to try out paint samples from
Below you can find a selection of my favorite greige paint colors. They include warmer and cooler shades and lighter or darker variants.
Since greige is quite a tricky color to get right and the undertones that show will highly depend on the kind of daylight a room gets, I always recommend trying out paint swatches first and leaving them for a while so you can take a look at the paint color at different times during the day.
Built-in wardrobes will always have a more finished result, which is especially useful when you don’t have a walk-in closet but have to use the bedroom space for both sleeping and storage space.
When you are especially tight on space, or when you want to use your bedroom for other functionalities like a home office or seating area, building your fitted wardrobe around the bed can be a great way of combining functionalities and saving precious floor space which can then be used for a dressing table, desk, or lounge chair.
Blue fitted wardrobes around the bed
This beautiful bedroom with historic details is painted white entirely, which makes the light blue fitted wardrobe around the bed stand out as the focal point and the main feature in the room.
The wardrobe is built with two main modules on each side of the bed, and hanging cabinets above the bed itself, resulting in a niche space for the bed which has been decorated with two simple black wall lamps.
The very top of the fitted wardrobe doesn’t reach all the way to the ceiling to not obstruct the view of the beautiful crown molding in this master bedroom.
A small bedroom like this one can benefit so much from around-the-bed wardrobes as there is almost no other way around fitting both the bed and storage space on such a small surface.
In this tiny bedroom, the built-in wardrobes have been constructed above and beside the bed, leaving a space against the wall for a small bed. This result is clearly the work of a professional as there were some uneven wall surfaces to overcome as well.
The wardrobe modules have been painted in the same color as the walls for an integrated effect and the niche space for the bed is the perfect place for an art print in the same color.
Side and above the bed wardrobes in a hotel-style bedroom

The niche space created by the wardrobes is filled with beautiful black wall lamps that are attached to the sides of the main wardrobe modules. The overall look of this bedroom has a hotel look and feel because of the niche space, TV on the wall, and the tone-on-tone color palette.
