// DIY Reversible Bag

post

This week I made a Reversible Bag with the pattern and instructions of Very Purple Person. For one side of the Bag I used a blue polka dot fabric and for the other one I used an old jeans shirt from my boyfriend. The shirt had a pocket on the chest, which I reused as a pocket on the purse. I enjoyed making this purse a lot. The instructions are very clear and straight forward and I had the bag finished in about two hours. I recommend trying this one out! All you need is some fabric and two hours of spare time.

DIY neon & wood pendant

post

When I saw this wooden bead necklace tutorial at “A girl who makes”, I couldn’t resist making one for myself. I like simple necklaces, so I choose to make a single wooden 20mm bead on a thin faux-gold chain.

I bought the wooden bead and a pink neon paint at a local craft store here in Berlin. I already had a chain (it had a very ugly heart pendant on it, which I removed).

I’m very happy with the results and I like how the neon pink stands out on a plain white or black shirt.  I still have some wooden beads left, so maybe I’ll try painting in other colors.

DIY Passport Cover

post

cocolapine_traveling
It’s always a good idea to protect your passport, especially if you travel a lot. This can be tricky since most covers out there are not transparent and customs will probably ask to remove them when checking your passport.

And that is why I DIYed my own transparent passport cover. It’s very easy to make and the good thing is that you’ll probably have some plastic lying around. For my cover, I used the wrapping that came with our bed sheets.

So, here’s what you’ll need to make your very own transparent passport cover
– (re-purposed) plastic, around 20x40cm
– scissors or knife and cutting mat
– ruler
– sewing machine and thread

And here’s how you make the cover
Cut the plastic in four pieces and place them on top of each other like shown in the picture below. Sew all layers together on the border of the biggest rectangle (go slow when you are sewing the three layers together, so you will not break your needle!)

Put your passport and traveling documents inside and you will have your own transparent passport cover to protect your passport on your many travels.

Happy Traveling !
