I think a separate dining room is quit the luxury these days, unless you live in a house with lots of space. To save space, it’s a great solution to combine the kitchen, dining and living room. The layout can be designed in a way that allows for all three areas to harmoniously work together.

Take this beautiful Swedish kitchen for example, where the kitchen island is also the division between the living room and kitchen. The kitchen itself has been built against the wall without any windows, leaving the prime spot for the dining table, which is bathing in sunlight. The sofa is facing the kitchen, which seems perfect for when you are entertaining guests, doesn’t it ?
