The color palette in this gorgeous turn-of-the-century apartment in Sweden (styled and photographed by Therese Jahnson for Historiska Hem) is unique and bold, yet so balanced at the same time. The living room is painted in a combination of light blue and a darker blue on the wainscoting and window and door frames for a cool setting that is contrasted by the warm tones in the artwork and the warm wood dining chairs.

The bold color choice in the living kitchen elevates the minimal white kitchen design with an island in the middle and the glass dining table in front of the window offers a perfect spot to gather for dinner.

The main bedroom is painted in a pastel pink shade on the walls, paired with a burgundy paint color on the wainscoting and a combination of warm wood tones and warm textiles to match the warm effect of the wall color in the space.

The kid’s room might have the boldest color palette of the entire apartment, with a mixture of blue on the walls, pink on the moldings and window frame, and a bright orange fabric canopy above the cod.

This cool wall color is paired with a beige fabric sofa a dark wood coffee table with a brown marble top and a mixture of pink and blue tones in the unique artwork set hanging above the sofa.

The bold color palette is paired with warm wood ding chairs and a moss green wool blanket on the sofa.

The windows, as well as the heaters and the beautiful historic frames around the window, are painted in the deep blue paint color that is used on the wainscoting as well, making them a true focal point in the space, on top of which the subtle decor pieces stand out.

The spacious dining table in front of the living room windows is made out of glass, with matching glass details in the sculptural pendant hanging above it. The warm wood dining chairs are placed on an area rug that pairs different pastel tones together.

The arched wall mirror hanging in between the two windows reflects the dining area and makes the room feel even bigger than it is already.

Opposite the sofa, you can find a Samsung Frame TV on top of a storage cabinet that is painted blue as well.

The glass backsplash matches the glass dining table and the kitchen island is great for adding extra countertop space, while also serving as a visual divider between the kitchen and the living area.

Through the blue double interior doors, you can look from the living room into the warm pink bedroom. The combination of both room colors works well and a beautiful contrast is achieved by pairing paint colors with warm as well as cool undertones.

A set of two Ikea Billy bookshelves have been modified and built in. By painting them in the same color as the wall, they look like a custom solution.

The pink paint color on the crown molding in this space accentuates this beautiful historic detail and adds a bold effect to the space.

The same bold pink color comes back in the frames of the window, making them stand out beautifully.
