Mia Sahlin’s beautiful Swedish home

post

This beautiful Swedish villa belongs to Mia Sahlin and her husband and it was recently featured in an article over at the Residence Magazine blog. The owners of this home are also the owners of the company Kitchen and Beyond and Cupboards and goods. Needless to say, the kitchen really is the center of this home, with these beautiful green tiles around the kitchens stove and a glass cabinet filled with Royal Copenhagen treasures.

I think the villa is renovated in such a beautiful way, with respect to the historic details, yet with such nice finishes that feel cozy and inviting. To find out more about the owners of this home and where all the beautiful details are from, I encourage you to read the article on the Residence Magazine blog

Kitchen inspiration from Kvänum

post

This kitchen from Kvänum combines all the right colors and materials if you ask me. The warm white on the bottom cabinets combines so wonderfully with the lines in the grey and white marble and the walnut high cabinets and dining table in the same material finish off this look so perfectly.

I also love that the high cabinets that are used are just placed on one side and are made out of glass, which makes them lighter and perfect for displaying a selection of pretty ceramics.

Grey office space

post

I think this is such cozy and inviting work space. I love the way this space is decorated and made into a stylish home office. I love the vintage table which is used as a desk, combined with the classy table lamp, the little sculpture and the wide vase with the flowers.

The stacked gallery wall and the peg rail finish off this look very nicely. I would think this workspace promotes creative work and I could see myself working there on my laptop to be honest.

Beautiful home with green and blue tints

post

This beautiful Swedish home lets in light from all different directions, which is not usually the case in an apartment. The grey kitchen with the subway tile backsplash seems to be the center of the space, with access to the bedrooms, hallway, and living room. I love the grey walls in the living room, which combine so nicely with the green plants and the blue tones on the sofa. The blue of the sofa also comes back in the wall color of the kid’s room, which can be seen from the kitchen as well.

The master bedroom has been painted in a beautiful deep green color and I love the way the white linen curtains and bedsheets stand out against this wall color.

Bright white living kitchen

post

This is such a beautiful sunlit living kitchen (via Alvhem). There is so much daylight coming from these big turn-of-the-century windows and the light gets reflected on the light palette of the interior as well as on the white walls in the space.

The living area has a beautiful light grey linen sofa, which is paired up with pillowcases in nude linen, and a fluffy area rug which softens up this area a lot. The armchair in natural linen, combined with the walnut side table and the black and white print adds character to this living space and the pampas grass has gotten a special place on the pedestal to make it extra eye-catching.

The dining area in front of the kitchen has been made into its little area as well, also by the use of an area rug and I love the combination of the Gubi Semi lamp and the contrasting print of the girl on the wall in between the two windows.

White home with beige accents

post

Painting walls has definitely become a trend in the past few years and I love the effect the right color can have in an interior. This beautiful Swedish home shows that white walls can be stylish as well and nothing beats the way they tend to reflect the daylight coming in from the windows.  The white palette in this home is enhanced by black accents and different tints of beige, which makes for a very cozy and inviting home.

The light color of the sofa, the area rug and both armchairs in the living room make for a perfect blank canvas to add different beige textiles, art prints and some plants and accessories. The adjacent dining area with the black Series 7 chairs* and the &Tradition Formakami light* add a big of contrast to this room and I like the bookshelf hung up on the wall in between the two areas.

Both master and guest bedrooms have a very neutral palette as well and I love the workplace in the guest bedroom, which shares the same color palette as in the living room,

Tiny yet stylish studio home

post

This single room contains a bedroom, living room and dining room all in just one tiny space and it looks both stylish and relatively spacious considering the amount of functionality that has been combined here. A simple sofa (or maybe this might be more like a daybed) combined with a fluffy area rug and a pouf which is also used as a coffee table form the living area. This area has been visually separated from the other parts of the room with a beautiful gallery wall in tints of beige with black accents, which is also the main color palette of this space.

The single bed has been made with a combination of textiles that add a lot of texture to this corner and the oval mirror next to it reflects the light coming in from the windows, making the space feel bigger.

The small black dining table and chairs fits two people comfortably and is placed right next to the entrance to the kitchen. This interior makes use of accessories to make the place personal and characterful and even though a lot of them are added to this small space, it doesn’t feel crowded because of the consistently muted color palette.

Menu AW20 novelties

post

Danish design company Menu just released their latest novelties and the images are styled and photographed in the impressive Audo, which I have been wanting to visit ever since it opened last year.

My favorites of the new collection are the Nimbus mirror designed by Kroyer-Saetter-Lassen, which has such an elegant design for the bathroom or vanity and the Torso table lamp by the same designer, which can be seen in the last picture. Other then the new releases, they have introduced the Knitting chair in 3 sheepskin variants, which makes this design even more cozy.

Studio home in a moody color palette

post

I love the moody color palette of this cozy Swedish studio home. The walls of the living and kitchen area are painted in a very light beige, though the deep color of the kitchen cabinets is what sets the character of this space I think. There is just enough space to fit a comfortable sofa and a round dining table without it feeling too cramped. The front door has a little niche, which allows for a little bit of space for a hallway area as well.

The bedroom has been painted in a warm beige, which comes peeking through from the other room and I love that the wardrobe cabinets are also painted in the same shade. The artwork and bedlinen complement the shade on the wall perfectly and the statement paper lamps on both ceiling and bedside add character without being too heavy.
