Cozy kitchen in petrol green

post

This kitchen looks very cozy and inviting yet very fresh and bright at the same time. I love the combination of the marble worktop with the dark petrol green cabinet fronts and the white tiles on the wall. The open shelving gives the kitchen a light and airy layout and offers an oportunity to store pretty ceramics at the same time.

The small dining table with the vintage dining chairs work very nicely in this corner as well and I love the pendant light dangling right above it, which makes this into an own little dining area.

Home with muted wall colors

post
Exposed wood double doors lead up towards a bedroom with blue walls

This home is so amazing I couldn’t select which images to share with you, I just had to share every single corner. The living room and master bedroom are separated by double interior doors, which are left in natural wood and I love the way the muted dark blue color on the bedroom walls comes peeking through from the living room. The living room has warm accents, which work well against the white walls with the contrasting art works and the same warm details can be found in the bedroom as well.

In the bedroom I love the little workspace by the window, which offers a nice spot to work from home. The bench behind the bed is great for storing pillows that aren’t currently in use and it visually separates the bed from the rest of the room as well.

The kitchen has a beautiful adjacent dining room in a muted green color, which makes the cognac leather dining chairs stand out in such a beautiful way. The kitchen fronts have the same shade as the dining room walls, which is such a nice touch.

Cozy home in warm beige tints

post

I love the cozy and inviting vibe that’s going on in this beautiful Swedish home designed in tints of brown, beige, black, and white. The small living room makes up in style for what it lacks in surface and lies in between the kitchen and office. The dark brown sofa has been balanced out with a light beige area rug and a light fabric on the armchair and I love that the bookshelf is also a sliding door with which the office can be closed.

The dining table fits perfectly in this niche area in front of the kitchen window, which has been decorated with beautiful beige linen curtains* and the Gubi semi pendant* in chrome fits this look so wonderful as well.

The bedroom must be my favorite room in the entire place with its toned-down muted palette, accents of brown, and lots of textiles that add a cozy texture. The reading corner with the armchair and black lamp looks so inviting in front of the window as well.

Beige modern classic kitchen from Nordiska Kök

post
Beige modern classic kitchen with terrazzo countertops and gold cabinet handles

Swedish kitchen manufacturer Nordiska kök just shared their latest project in an apartment in Stockholm, which they describe themselves as a blend between modern and classic, with a calm and elegant charm. I personally love the combination of the terrazzo worktop and backsplash, with the minimal yet classy woodwork in earthy tones on the fronts.

The upper cabinets are fitted with a hazed vitrine glass, which shows the contents in a subtle way, yet keeps the entire look light and airy. The kitchen island in the middle of the space serves as a hub for gathering, which has been made entirely out of terrazzo. The color palette of the space is calm and modest, yet the different textures of the wood, terrazzo, and glass make it interesting and characterful.

Cozy kitchen with a classic look

post

Usually, I’m more drawn to minimal lines in the design of a kitchen, but this classic design with the wallpaper in the little dining corner just is so cozy and characterful that I just had to share it with you.

The area of the dining table has been made into a corner of its own, with the area rug on the floor and the wallpaper only on this wall, separating it from the rest of the kitchen. The high shelf in this corner is ideal for storing pretty ceramics and doesn’t take away any seating space on the bottom because it’s so high up.

I like the way the lower modules of the kitchen have been wrapped around the wall along with the subway tile backsplash to make the most use of the surface in this somewhat oddly shaped room. By using only lower kitchen cabinets here, the view to the dining table from the other room doesn’t get obstructed and you get the feeling of spaciousness.

Ferm Living AW20

post

Danish design company Ferm Living just released their new collection for AW2020 and it unites the classic Scandinavian design heritage with an artistic and avant-garde touch. Their collection is designed to help create a space to feel comfortable in both good and demanding times.

Their new collection has been shot in their new large showroom, which I would love to visit as soon as travelling by plane is safe again. The earthy tones in these images have a sense of calm and tranquility in them and I love they way clean lines are mixed up with organic forms in a modest color palette for a characterful look.

Profile designed by Norm Architects for Reform

post

During 3 days of design in Copenhagen last week, Danish design company Reform released their latest design by Norm Architects. Profile balances an inviting architectural language with subtle textural lines and sturdy, lasting materials. The design takes its name from the rounded aluminum profile which is an integrated handle that is understated, yet eye-catching at the same time. The handle is available in white, golden metal, silver metal, and dark metal, and can be combined with fronts in dark or natural oak or lacquered tints of grey, white, and sand for many personalization possibilities.

I think the power of the design is in its timeless simplicity with integrated functionality with which you can create different looks. In the pictures above you can see the difference the color and material of the design can make to a room, yet the design stays recognizable with every material combination.

The white kitchen blends into the niche space with white walls in such an elegant way and has a very clean and minimal look.

Turn of the century home with an interesting layout

post

I love to see creative solutions for small layouts and I think this beautiful turn of the century Swedish apartment is such a great example of this. The kitchen and bedroom used to be one single room, which was split up into two, to be able to make better use of the space. Since the kitchen wouldn’t have any natural light coming in, the top part of the dividing wall has been made out of glass, which lets in natural light from the bedroom window. I think this is such a lovely solution and I love the way the black window frames add contrast to the soft grey look on the bedroom side and at the same time add an industrial touch to the kitchen side which has been fitted with steel open shelving and a natural beige stone countertop.

A great feature of these old homes are of course the doors, which in this case have been left unpainted and I think they add so much to the clean and simple interior of both the living room and bedroom.

Cozy home in beige

post

In this small home the emphasis really lays on the kitchen, which has been built in the central area between the hallway, bedroom and living area. I love that an open island solution is used with shelving on the dining table side for displaying pretty items. The round dining table fits perfectly next to this kitchen island and I think the combination of the darker and lighter wood tones works nicely together.

The big round mirror in the living room area reflects the light coming in from the bedroom and makes this space look bigger (great trick). The bedroom must be the most cozy room in this apartment. The bed with a linen bedskirt* has been made with simple white linen, linen pillow cases* and a mixture of textiles in grey, white and beige which matches the look of the entire apartment.
