Small hallway office

post

You don’t need much space for a home office and ever since this year I have seen so many inspiring small spots to get some work done at home. This one has been built into a hallway in between two rooms and yes, even though it would be lovely to have direct light, I think the owners of this home went with the space available and made it into a comfy and cozy office space. They went with the lack of daylight and painted this small space in a very dark grey, which works so wonderfully well in contrast with the all white spaces on both sides of this small room.

Fresh green in an old kitchen

post

This kitchen is not the newest or fanciest one to say the least, but I’m absolutely loving the old green walls combined with the small dining table, dressed with a crisp linen table cloth* and a very elegant pendant light on top. It really shows how you can dress up a room with details and on a budget and it makes me want to buy an old house that I can slowly renovate over time (someday).

Cozy home with warm details

post

I love the way this home is decorated with lots of deep colors and carefully selected furniture and accessories. The living room is very spacious, yet by only using a relatively small sofa in front of the window, a lot of space is left for smaller furniture items that add character to this space. The statement lamp and armchair add a personal touch here and the round dining table on the other side of the room works wonderfully with the brass wall lamp.

An extra window has been fitted into the wall connecting the kitchen and the bedroom, allowing more daylight to flow into the kitchen area, which I’m sure makes all the difference. The bedroom is small yet feels spacious because of the large window and I love the peg rail that has been placed underneath the window.

Soft home in a beige palette

post

I think this home is styled and finished in such a beautiful way. The warm grey/beige on the walls looks so pretty combined with the black accent pieces, white textiles and furniture, and the many beige tints integrated into this interior.

The fluffy area rug in the living room adds so much texture and combines so nicely with the clean white sofa and the fine black Mantis wall lamp from DCW éditions*. I love the way the paper lampshade and the sheer white curtains stand out against the warm grey walls and the way textiles are used to create a cozy look and feel.

The clean lines of the off-white kitchen work very nicely with the round dining table and the black Thonet bentwood chairs* and I love the way the black accent comes back in the art prints on the wall as well.

The color palette of the living room has been applied to the bedroom as well, where a combination of white textiles on the bed makes everything look light and fresh and the hanging wardrobe adds a subtle black accent to the warm grey walls.

Cozy turn of the century home

post

The turn-of-the-century details in this beautiful Swedish home are just amazing and renovated in a very nice way. The herringbone flooring was renewed and the molding on the ceilings, walls, windows, and doors was renovated (or partially replaced, that’s hard to tell from the pictures).

I love the way the living room and dining room are connected with those beautiful doors for an open plan area and the daybed by the balcony works so nicely in combination with the floor lamp and the mirror reflecting the daylight.

The kitchen consists mainly out of lower cabinets, with a few high cabinets and open shelving for a light and airy look. The narrow area by the window and the exposed brick wall is used for a beautiful round dining table, which seems to be made for this spot.

An unused doorway in the hallway has been transformed into a small workplace with a floating desk, which is such a nice touch and I love the combination of the wall paneling and the floral wallpaper in this space.

Grey home with warm details

post

I love the combination in this home of the light grey walls with the accessories, textiles and details in beige tints and lots of green plants for a fresh touch. This apartment is entirely renovated, yet the herringbone flooring gives a historic look and feel to it while still maintaining the clean and finished look of a new floor.

The sofa area is placed in the sunniest spot of the living room, allowing space for the dining table in the part that doesn’t have any direct sunlight. A large round mirror above the dining table adds another natural light source in a way as it reflects the light from the windows.

Behind these beautiful sliding doors you can find the bedroom in a beige palette with a Beni Ourain rug adding some extra texture. The kitchen has a very simple grey design, finished off with flossy metro tiles and a beautiful round dining table in front of the window.

Home in warm tones

post

I love the cozy atmosphere of this apartment in Sweden. The living room, dining area and kitchen are one space, with a niche space for the kitchen that must have been quite the challenge to plan. The kitchen looks kind of hacked together, which also has its charm and I love the way the owners have built in the small fridge and made this module into a kitchen island, so creative.

The round dining table with the black Fritz Hansen Series 7 chairs fits perfectly in front of the window here and the small sofa area is visually divided from the rest of the space with the grey area rug. The armchair in teddy fabric is from Swedish Fogia and it has been on my personal wish-list for a really long time.

From the living room you can take a peek into the bedroom, which has been decorated in a beige and green color palette. It’s so wonderful to have a balcony here as well. Next to the kitchen there is another small room which is used as a small home office, so important nowadays and in my opinion also in the future.

Cozy attic home in grey

post

The walls of this cozy Swedish attic home have all been painted in the same warm light grey color, which adds a calm vibe to this space. The grey comes back in the kitchen block and is combined with warm beiges, wood, and textiles in warm colors.

My favorite area in this home must be the small black dining table which has been placed by the rough white wall. I love the contrast of the black furniture here combined with the texture on the old wall and the different prints on the gallery wall.

This one-room studio has a lot of functionalities combined, but somehow it still looks spacious and organized since all areas have been separated visually by either an area rug, a physical wall, or a gallery wall.

Cozy attic home on two levels

post

This beautiful Swedish attic home was probably quite the challenge to plan and decorate, but I think the layout turned out so nicely in the end. When stepping through the front door, you come straight into the kitchen, where a String furniture storage system for shoes and jackets is built.

The kitchen has been planned on the wall facing the staircase, making space for a round dining table in front of the window, which is the nicest spot to have dinner I think. The empty room underneath the staircase has been used for a smaller storage cupboard and the large round mirror lightens up this darker corner.

The upstairs area has both a living room and bedroom underneath the sloped roof. I love that the wooden beams are exposed and they are even more enhanced in the attic bedroom, in combination with the pale blue walls.

Light flooded studio home

post

All these inspiring small studio homes that I have been finding lately make me think it doesn’t really matter what space you have available, you can always make it work somehow. Take this small Swedish studio space for example, which features a combined bedroom and living room that has been made so cozy with all the textiles and accessories. I love the way the old doorway, which isn’t in use anymore, is used as bookshelf and the way the window sill also functions as a bedside table.

The sofa has it’s own little area, outlined by the beige area rug underneath it and I just can’t get enough of the dining area in the kitchen with the bench in front of the window.
