A red Swedish cabin with a sage-green interior

post

This cozy Swedish cabin in the woods (via Stadshem) boasts a brick-red exterior, complemented by a sage-green interior that lends it a cheerful, earthy feel. Although it appears small on the outside, the inside of this beautiful cabin is replete with details that make it an attractive and functional space.

This Cozy Kitchen Exudes Endless Charm

With an open floor plan, the kitchen in this cabin offers numerous features that make cooking and dining a breeze. The beautiful sage green kitchen walls and wood beam ceiling add an earthy element and a cheerful color that gives it extra whimsy.

Although there aren’t many, the grey cabinets with white trim still provide plenty of storage, mainly thanks to the tall pantry located on one side of the kitchen. A small window brings in natural light, and the open shelving on the wall gives the cabin owner additional storage and more valuable space.

The small folding two-burner stove top is a perfect way to make a pot of tea or coffee or cook a meal.

Nestled near the pantry is a large dining table with mismatched chairs, creating a fun and eclectic vibe. The checkered linen tablecloth, a simple white pendant light, and framed artwork bring this space a plethora of personality.

The Living Area Features a Relaxed, Lived-In Look

A simple daybed or futon with a black metal frame creates a comfortable place to sit and relax in this small yet open living room. The wood beam ceilings and sage green continue here, as does the assortment of artwork and eclectic decor.

The white pendant light gives this area a separate feel, as does the modern accent chair and small wooden coffee table. Numerous throw pillows and a thick, white blanket add softness, texture, and color to the space.

Modern summer house with white shiplap walls

post

This gorgeous modern summer house in Sweden has the traditional Swedish red outside walls, yet the large windows and modern structure give it a contemporary look. The interior is fitted with white shiplap walls in all the rooms, which matches the outside walls. The concrete tile flooring in the downstairs area adds a contrasting element to the white walls and the elegant mixture of modern and classic furniture pieces makes for an elegant interior.

Upstairs, you can find a bedroom and an office space, which looks out on the balcony from which you can oversee the beautiful lake. The outdoor area includes two patios: one for lounging and one with an outdoor dining table.

The tall and narrow windows in the living room look out onto the impressive green trees outside, which is an element that also comes back in the green indoor plants spread throughout the space.

The white fabric sofa combined with the contemporary coffee table in a dark wood tone that sits on a natural rug fits wonderfully in the interior.

Above the TV, open shelving is applied, which has an impressive effect on the sofa area. I love the way the dark tones in the accessories stand out against the white walls and shelving.

A black metal fireplace is surrounded by a white structure, with added storage space for firewood, which makes for an interesting element that cozies up the look.

The round dining table with the oak dining chairs fits perfectly in between the sofa area and the kitchen and looks out over the outdoor dining area. The amphora with the rubber tree fits perfectly into the corner by the windows,

A wood kitchen with an open ceiling

Even though the wood kitchen is a bit dated, it does fit nicely against the white shiplap walls and the grey tile floor. The second floor doesn’t extend over the kitchen area, which allows for an impressive ceiling height that is accentuated by the many double-height windows.

A small and cozy bedroom with a minimal look

The bedroom is minimal yet cozy, with the shiplap bedroom walls defining the small space. The floating shelf above the bed adds a subtle spot to the look for displaying small accessories and books.

A two-person workspace looking out over the lake

In the area between the balcony and the railing that looks out over the kitchen, you can find a two-person workspace with a storage module in the middle and a beautiful pinboard on the wall.

On the second level of the home, the hardwood flooring has been painted white just like the walls, which gives this space an all-white impression. Since the desk and storage module are also white, this makes the wooden chairs stand out in a lovely way.

Storage underneath the staircase

The area underneath the staircase is used for a sideboard and wall storage, which is a great optimization of this otherwise lost space.

Spacious outside lounge areas to enjoy the Swedish summer

The area underneath the upstairs balcony is a great spot for a large dining table. This way, the outdoor spot is protected from rain and the chain lights add extra coziness to the setting.
