Office and kitchen connected

post

This beautiful home in Sweden combines a kitchen with a home office in a very lovely way, separated by a black metal glass partition. Instead of making two entirely separate rooms out of this big kitchen, the owners chose to only build the wall halfway and have the other half made out of glass just like the entry door, so you can still look through it, which makes both spaces look bigger.

The kitchen has been custom-built and the cabinets have this elegant shade of white with contrasting black round handles. The upper cabinets and fridge are built around the window and the L-shaped layout works perfectly in this room. The round dining table works well in the middle of the space and the open shelving above the table turns this section of the kitchen into a separate dining area of some sort.

While the kitchen has a very light color palette, this changes when you walk into the home office which has dark grey walls and dark furniture. By the window, you can see a custom-built desk combined with an open bookshelf, which is built around the window. I think it must be such a lovely spot to sit and get some work done while being able to look outside the window. While the desk doesn’t take up much space in front of the window, the rest of the room is used for a lounge chair and a little table. I think it makes so much sense to have a lounge area in your office so you can switch places to work, which is what I personally do as well when I feel like I’m getting less productive during the day.

Small home office

post

In those old buildings like the one this apartment is located in, you often have those long and narrow rooms, which are slightly awkward. I think this room is so narrow, yet perfect for a little workspace. The vintage desk in front of the window looking at the tree just seems like an ideal spot to get some work done, doesn’t it?

I love the sheer beige curtains* that warm up the light coming from the window and the warm wood of the vintage desk and the red tints in the plant and books on the window sill give the color palette a lovely warm glow. The big round mirror on the wall reflects the space, which is especially nice in a narrow room like this one to make it seem bigger.

Green outside my office window

post

My home office looks out on a little park, which is such a nice feature in this apartment. During spring though, the trees started to grow leaves (as they do), but they also take so much more daylight away now. I have a lamp in my window sill, which can be dimmed, so when it’s a rainy day, I like to turn this one on and since the light source is still directed into the room from the window, it feels more natural than turning the pendant light on.

As you might know, I love switching up the styling in my windows, and currently, I have a mixture of brass, white and warm tints in there. I also got this sculptural ceramic storage piece from Arket* recently, which adds such a lovely texture to the window.

Beautiful living room and home office combined

post

I love the warm beige color palette in this living room, which goes so nicely with the white and the wood tints in the furniture I think. The Ikea Soderhamn sofa, customised with a warm beige custom cover from Bemz* matches so nicely with the structured painting on the wall and the sheer beige curtains* in front of these beautiful windows.

This living room is not that big, but still there is an area for the sofa and an added home office space in the corner against the wall. I love the way this desk is decorated (obviously the magazines would be replaced by a laptop) with the art print, little vase and lamp.

Office ready for the work week

post

I showed the new vases* I got from Arket in my blogpost yesterday and there were so much more beautiful things in my parcel. Some of them I’m using in my office, like this beautiful ceramic piece of art, which is actually a storage box* and a set of 4 blue water glasses* that have a lobely speckled pattern in them.

In my window you can see the tree trunk vase*, which I love the texture off and I think they will look even better with real flowers instead of dried ones.

Since it has been taking me ages to get the pin board attached to the wall, I decided to start using it while it’s leaned against the wall. I love it for keeping notes and plans. Now I just have to locate my tumbtacks and I’m good to go.

Spring in my office window

post

I love looking out of the window every once in a while while working at my desk and the window in my office is always the one that is decorated nicely. I love switching around the decor here regularly and I think the effect a single flower can have here is major. It makes me so happy to look at a little flower in my window while I’m working. It’s a small thing that makes such a difference to my working day.

New in my home office

post

I think you have seen this area in my home office. On the other side I have my desk, which has my desktop computer where I edit pictures and do most of my computer work, but I also like to move to the kitchen table or to the smaller desk in my office with my laptop, or for writing to-do lists or if I just want to empty my brain on paper. I find that if I switch places from time to time during my work day, it really improves my productivity.

The black table is used daily, for this purpose, and since it’s right behind me when I sit at my desktop computer, it’s also my video call background, so I always try to keep it organised. I recently added the beautiful Cotton polka dot rug* from H&M home here and I think it really finishes of this area, while as the lavender linen pillow case* adds a touch of spring. I never had a lavender decor item until this one, but I love the soft pastel vibe it adds to the black and wood palette in this corner.

Kitchen with a tiny home office

post

This grey kitchen with white marble countertops and brass handles and faucet stands out so much against the white floor and walls. The space is long and narrow, with cabinets placed on both sides of the room, but there is just enough space for an inviting dining area in front of the balcony window where you can sit with two people.

In the niche next to the galley kitchen, a small home office was installed and a custom floating desk was made to fit in this rather awkward corner space. A window would be nice to have here, but it’s so nice anyways to have an area to get some work done which is not the kitchen table right?

Cute attic home office

post

I love all the inspiring home office spaces that I see popping up in the last year, during which the majority of us have been working from home. Depending on the space available, you can create a space to get some work done and make it cozy and inviting. After all, it’s the place where you spend a consistent part of your day, so you better make it comfortable to work at right ?

I love this beautiful home office space underneath the roof, with a height adjustable desk on top of a grey area rug for extra coziness and wooden wall shelves to keep some deco items and a little plant. This looks like a wonderful place to get some work done.

Spring vibes in my office

post

Over the weekend I tidied my desk area, which I was so grateful for starting the workweek. It’s so much less distracting to work from a clean and organised table isn’t it ? I rearranged the decorations in the window as well and added a little flower. I’m so amazed how such a small hint of spring can turn around the entire mood of a space.
