My Home office

post

In my home office I have my desk and large computer on the wall by the window, so I can look outside while working. I feel like it gives my eyes a rest from the screen every once in a while and it’s a welcome distraction as well.

On the other side of the room (seen in the pictures) I have my poster packing station where I can store all my art prints flat. Next to that I have a small table where I like to sit to change things up and sketch or write to do lists. I ‘m using this big wall to hang all the art works I’m currently working on to test and see if they would make good prints. I really like this area and even though it’s not finished yet, it’s going into the right direction.

I have moved the Polka dot begonia from the window in the living room out here. I have fallen back in love with this plant ever since I got the beautiful new plant pot from Arket*.

Cozy bedroom with a home office

post

This beautiful light flooded bedroom with windows on two sides of the bed (such a luxury) has such a fresh look yet is super cozy as well. The beige striped linen bedding combined with the classic floor lamp, the fabric pendant on the ceiling and the white curtains add so much texture to the area where the bed is placed.

The vintage desk stands out so nicely on the opposite side and even though this corner has a rather odd shape, it works perfectly for this purpose. The shelves on the wall are placed on different heights, which offers space for books and works well on these angled walls.

Basement home office

post
A basement home office with a double floating desk

So many people are having to create a spontaneous home office now that working from home became such a common thing. You can transform an area of your dining table, place a small office table in your bedroom or you can transform a basement space like this one into a home office.

I love the way this room is transformed into a warm and inviting space with the nude pink color on the walls. A floating desk was created by mounting a custom-cut wooden plate in between the walls and voila, there you have a home office for two.

Office view

post

Office by day, paint studio by night. I have been enjoying painting during these cozy winter evenings and weekends after not picking up a brush in a while, so nice to get back to it.

Grey office space

post

I think this is such cozy and inviting work space. I love the way this space is decorated and made into a stylish home office. I love the vintage table which is used as a desk, combined with the classy table lamp, the little sculpture and the wide vase with the flowers.

The stacked gallery wall and the peg rail finish off this look very nicely. I would think this workspace promotes creative work and I could see myself working there on my laptop to be honest.

On my office shelf

post

I have this String shelf and small office space inside my office, which I like to use when I need a small change of environment. It’s literally 2m away from my desk, but somehow it works and I get new energy for working when I move to another spot. I used to go to a coffee place and work from there from my laptop, which can also be nice.

There is something about moving work spaces to make your to-do list or simply write out some ideas, it has really helped me to be more productive at home.

Small hallway office

post

You don’t need much space for a home office and ever since this year I have seen so many inspiring small spots to get some work done at home. This one has been built into a hallway in between two rooms and yes, even though it would be lovely to have direct light, I think the owners of this home went with the space available and made it into a comfy and cozy office space. They went with the lack of daylight and painted this small space in a very dark grey, which works so wonderfully well in contrast with the all white spaces on both sides of this small room.

In my office window

post

It has been so grey and rainy for the past few days here in Munich and it fits perfectly with the tax-work I need to do over the coming days. As much as I hate this (who doesn’t), at least I’m not tempted to go out in the sun and I can glue myself to my desk.

A new plant pot from Arket* joined my window sill and I’m using it to keep pens and paint brushes. I love how the shape combines with the cup from HAY that I have in this window and they both fit so wonderfully on the Louis Poulsen YUH lamp* I think.

Office view and a new vintage cup

post

Spend the afternoon planning upcoming projects and loved this creative vibe, fuelled with coffee. I got a tiny new vintage cup and milk jug and it makes me wonder about the stories behind these pieces. The cup depicts a Dutch landscape and has a windmill combined with a Medieval village. It’s a bit small if I’m being totally honest, but I love the story behind it more than I mind the constant refilling.

Tiny office room

post

The owners of this Swedish home transformed a tiny room into a beautiful and inspiring workspace. The room doesn’t have direct daylight, which makes artificial lighting even more important (both on the desk and on the ceiling). The white area rug brightens up the space, adds a soft surface to place your feet on and makes this room more like a finished space rather than a storage cabinet.

The picture ledges on the wall add an oportunity to display small accessories and art prints which can easily be updated and switched around, without sacrificing floor space.
